Changhsingian Stage, last of two internationally defined stages of the Upper Permian (Lopingian) Series, encompassing all rocks deposited during the Changhsingian Age (254.2 million to 252.2 million years ago) of the Permian Period. The name of the interval is derived from the Chinese county of Changxing. In 2005 the International Commission on Stratigraphy (ICS) established the Global Stratotype Section and Point (GSSP) defining the base of this unit in Bed 4 of the Changxing Limestone of Meishan, Changhxing county, Zhejiang province, China.
